Session Information:

Your session will last approximately 1-3 hours, but the time is not always exact as I do my best not to rush the experience for anyone. I will take the time to get to know you and your children and make you feel comfortable, so we get the portraits you love. I prefer shooting in natural light, but the location is completely up to you: your home, your own backyard, a favorite park, or other areas of natural beauty. Having your session outdoors has the advantage of bringing natural light and beauty into your portraits, and sometimes there is nothing more relaxing than being at home. I come prepared with studio lighting when necessary indoors although it and backdrop work are not my preferred style. There is a $25.00 travel fee per 10 miles above the included 20 miles. (i.e. 20 miles included, 21-30 miles $25; 31-40 miles $50, etc)

Clothing Information:

Simple is always best! Neutral tones, denim, khakis are always great clothing combinations, or stand-alone well. Texture, also, adds great depth to your portraits. If two or more people will be photographed, try to maintain the same color tone in your wardrobe. Please understand that a great portrait is not always "khakies and white shirts". It's great to coordinate but not necessarily match. Barefoot is always fun, and for newborns, bare skin! Consider dressing in white sparingly as it often reflects light too strongly in your portraits.

Please try to avoid large logos, prints or bold stripes, as they tend to distract rather than enhance the portraits. However, fun and "funky" clothing choices for children or the entire family can bring a lot of personality and color to your images, too.

Portrait Viewing Information:

Your custom preview slidedshow & gallery will be ready for viewing online approximately 2-4 weeks after the date of your session. The amount of time is needed to provide you with enough variety for your gallery. I take great care and personally retouch every image in your gallery, so that you are presented with the best quality. What you see is what you get! I will email you the link to your private client page with links to your slideshow and ordering gallery. Please feel free to share this link with friends and family. I believe online proofing is a great convenience to my clients, as I know that not all involved in the ordering process can attend the proofing appointments. This also allows you to take your time and view the portraits for as ong as the gallery remains active.

Your gallery and slideshow will be posted for seven (7) days which gives ample time to complete your order. You will be notified when your gallery is ready so that you can choose the date that is mjost convenient for you to start your ordering period. Your session will include at least 20 - 30 proofs (sometimes more) for your viewing that best represent the spirit and love of your family and/or children. Your portraits will be shown with a mixture of black and white, unless otherwise noted of preferingr one over the other. A slideshow of your session images will also be available during your viewing time. This is the best way to showcase your session to family and friends - send them to view your slideshow and is an added bonus for my clients to enjoy. Once it expires, your shopping gallery will still be available to complete your order. Once your order has been made and your payment has cleared, your portraits will be ready in approximately 3-4 weeks.*

*I will keep all ordered images on file for one year for further additional reprints at a later date. There is a $100 minimum for re-orders. All images not ordered within 30 days will be purged. Orders of $1000 or more will have ALL images archived for one year as a courtesy to my clients. During the 30 day time frame, if you need an additional 5 days to view your gallery, there is a $25 reposting fee. Your gallery will remain online for an additional five days only.

* Please note: Canvas portraits and other speciality items such as CD Slideshows and albums can take up to 6-8 weeks for delivery.

You can choose to have your order shipped when complete, or you may pay additional shipping fee for your specialty items if you'd like to have them shipped separately.

**All orders will be assessed a small delivery fee upon checkout. All orders are mailed Prority Mail with signature confirmation. This allows me to be sure my clients receive their shipments and none are lost in the mail or left on a porch to be taken or left in the elements. You may proviate an alternate address if not home during daytime hours (a neighbor/friend, your place of business). Local shipping is a decision that Sherri Winstead Photography has made to expedite the timely delivery of prints to her clients and keep from any pricing/print increases for my clients.
